The Johnson Farm, accessible by trail from the Peaks of Otter Visitor Center, is the one remaining property from the community that existed around this vacation resort prior to the building of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Currently operated and furnished as it appeared in the 1930s, costumed interpreters work the farm on a daily basis and offer interpretive discussions and programs for the Parkway visitors. It is the ancestral home of the Johnson's that own Peaks of Otter Winery & Orchards.
